Audio

The strongest identifier The Wiser has, and the one we have the least of.

The call — a rapid turkey gobble crossed with a deep bear growl, carrying fast unintelligible chatter — is the feature that most cleanly separates this creature from Sasquatch reports. It is also the feature least likely to survive in a written account.

One reproduction has been preserved in the family through direct performance rather than recording, passed down from the 1920s encounter. Capturing it to audio is a current priority.

How we handle evidence

Anything posted here is labeled with what is actually known about it. If an image has no verified source, it says so. If a track cast has an ordinary explanation, that explanation is listed alongside it.

The goal is not a pile of blurry photos. It is a record that holds up — because the case for The Wiser being a distinct creature rests entirely on the quality of the record we keep.
