You will not be laughed at and your name will not be published without your permission. Tell it the way you remember it.
What to include
Online intake is not open yet — see below. In the meantime, this is what makes an account useful, and it is worth writing down now while you still remember it clearly.

When and where
County and nearest landmark is enough — you do not need to give an exact address, and we would rather you did not publish one.

What you saw
Height against something known (fence post, truck bed, tree limb), coat color, and anything about the back or spine.

What you heard
Describe the call in your own words before you read ours. If it reminded you of another animal, say which one. Timing and pacing matter.

How long, and how far
Duration in seconds and rough distance. Both are usually overestimated in the moment, which is fine — say what it felt like.

What it did
Whether it moved, held still, watched, or left. Whether it noticed you, and what changed when it did.

Anything you kept
Photos, video, audio, or casts. Unedited originals tell us the most — keep them somewhere safe rather than posting them publicly first.
How your account is handled
Reports are reviewed before anything is published, and nothing identifying goes on the site without your say-so. Locations are kept general — county and landmark, never an address — to protect both witnesses and the sites themselves.
Intake is deliberately closed until it can be done safely. A contact form on a site like this is the one place a stranger's personal details could be exposed, so it is not going live until submissions are handled by a provider that filters spam and stores the data on their side rather than ours. There is intentionally no email address printed on this site — published addresses get harvested and buried in spam within weeks.
